There’s this assumption by a lot of people that a WordPress site automatically means a template-based website because there’s all these different templates or options out there. There’s actually a different way to go with WordPress.
You can actually create a full unique custom layout or design and you can integrate that design with WordPress.

I’m going to kind of go into the advantages and disadvantages of custom versus template. The biggest advantage of custom is the fact that the quality is much higher. You can craft and you can put together a very unique web design for your business, which will meet the needs of the business, the needs of your potential clients.
It’ll create a much better user experience in the website. So the main benefit of a custom website versus a template website is the overall quality, the quality of the design, the quality of the plan that goes into the design, the quality of the layout, and the fact that it can be completely tailored for your business.
And it’s typically easy to notice the difference in a custom website versus a template website.
Pre-Designed WordPress Templates
Now there’s two main advantages of a template website over a custom website. The first thing is cost. It’s typically a lot cheaper to go with the template website versus a custom website.
And the second thing is timeline. Because you’re not doing a full design and planning and wireframe for a template website, you can typically get that done in maybe a half or a third the period of time. So if you have a business that the website is really not that important for your marketing, you’re just looking to get something up quickly, maybe a placeholder until you do something else, in that case, the template website is probably the best way to go.
But if you can invest the time and you know more money into the project and you want a higher quality website that is designed to create a better experience for your potential clients, we definitely recommend going with a quality WordPress website in that case.
