Hi this is Jessica with TinyFrog Technologies and I’m filming today from Balboa Park here in San Diego and I’d like to talk about email opt-in forms on your website. So an email opt-in form’s main function is to let website visitors subscribe to your email newsletter list and this can be a great tool for lead generation and building up email subscribers.
There’s a couple things to think about before you set this up on your website. First, you’ll want to select an email marketing provider, so the most common ones are Constant Contact or Mailchimp. Both of these integrate really seamlessly into a WordPress website and we’ll set the form up on your site in kind of two different ways.
The most common way is to do an email opt-in where someone provides their email address and maybe their name and then gets access to a special piece of content, such as an ebook or a download. And when they sign up for that, we also set up the form so that their email address is automatically added to your email newsletter list.
The other way we can set this up on the site is on a blog page, so if a client has a really active blog and they send out a regular email newsletter we’ll do a different type of form where website visitors can actually subscribe to get that newsletter each month.
