Hi, this is Mikel from TinyFrog Technologies. I’d like to talk a little bit about not establishing trust and credibility in your website. If you don’t have a lot of time, as you probably heard most people don’t spend a lot of time on websites, and one of the things people are looking for above and beyond in terms of what you do and why they should use you, but they’re looking for some kind of credibility. One of the ways you can establish credibility very early on is through a series of techniques.
One of which is testimonials. You know a lot of people look for third-party recommendations and referrals. So that’s something that can be used which is a very common thing to use, you have to be very careful about how you use testimonials. The testimonials you use you want to be careful of writing very long dissertation based customer testimonials.
Another thing that can be used are logos of clients associations other organizations you’re connected with that can lend a lot of credibility to what you’re doing. And even on a subconscious level when people see those logos of recognizable companies it instantly builds trust and credibility. Links to third party sites where the referrals are posted to can be used as well. It’s really important that you establish the trust and credibility very early on in the website so you’re not forcing someone to have to look for that. And usually it can be an area of your website on your home page that’s like a link or some type of icon dedicated to linking to a page on your site that kind of establishes your trust and credibility.
That’s something we’re working with our clients that we’re always recommending and asking them, and inquiring them in ways that we can help them to establish trust and credibility when building their website for them.
