Hi my name is Elise and I am with TinyFrog Technologies, and today I want to talk about how to capture leads on your website. Depending on the type of business you work with, your website’s going to have different conversion goals.
You want to establish both primary and secondary conversions for your website visitors as they navigate your site. Depending on your visitors, some are going to be a little bit more traditional so they might just want to pick up the phone and give you a call or send you an email, and so you should always have those accessible to them.
But, if you’re looking for more unique and engaging ways to capture visitors on your site, we’ve got a few ideas for you.
The first option is to share a downloadable guide or e-book. These work really well if your visitors value education and information from you, and it can also be a really great way to set yourself apart in the industry and establish some thought leadership with your website.
A similar approach is to do what’s called a incentive-based opt-in form. Similar to a downloadable guide, this is a situation where someone’s providing their contact information to you in exchange for something of value. This could be a PDF, a checklist, or a white paper.
If you have an ongoing email campaign, there’s also a couple options for this. You can use that incentive-based opt-in form to capture new audiences to add to your email list. Or if you want to keep things a little bit more straightforward, you can just include a simple newsletter sign-up on your website.
Another option is to have a live chat integration on your website. This is a really great opportunity if you want to have real-time conversations with both potential clients and current clients of yours. It’s a really great way for people to get their questions answered immediately, and a lot of people will use your live chat to schedule a call with you in the future, so it’s a really great way to get some new leads.
If your primary call to action is to get people to schedule a call with you, you can also include a calendar embed on your website such as Calendly or OnceHub. This gives your visitors the control since they can see your schedule and pick a time that works well for them.
Or, if you don’t want them to have that control and schedule it on their own time, maybe your schedule’s a little too busy to get that on a calendar or you don’t want people’s initial connection with you to be that first call, you can also just have a standard contact form on your website and then you can reach out to them and get those next steps started.
The last option for capturing leads on your website, if you’re looking for something a little bit more robust, is a custom conversion page. This is a page that would exist on your website that would allow you to share your process, overcome any hesitations by sharing some FAQs or benefits to your clients, and then guiding them towards taking that specific action. So this page could include that form fill or that calendar integration like I talked about. It’s just a more detailed page to really get into those benefits and establish the next steps with your clients.
