In part 2 of this series I suggested that you review your competitor’s sites and “inspiration” sites for things you do and don’t like about the look and feel of those websites. While you’re doing this, take a look at the functionality. For example, look for the different effects. Say you roll over the navigation bar. What happens? Does it change color? Does the link change? Does the font get larger? Do any of these sites have a slideshow that you like? Does the slideshow have arrows on the sides to get you from slide to slide or does it have little buttons at the bottom to use for navigation?All of these factors will get you thinking about how you would like your website to function.
