Hello, this is Mikel with Tiny Frog Technologies. One of the questions we get asked fairly frequently when we’re working with our clients is: Do you do websites for our industry? This industry or that industry. We tend to do websites for many different industries, and not just make one type of industry specific website. We’re fairly industry agnostic.
There are some companies that specialize in doing websites for lawyers or accountants or the health industry. We’ve found the companies that specialize in very specific industries tend to do kind of cookie cutter template-based websites, where our approach is very custom. So even if we don’t have a lot of experience in a particular industry one of the benefits is we put a lot of time into researching that company, the value that they’re offering, the industry in general, looking at competitive websites.
We actually like to go into every project with a fairly unbiased perspective, not bringing in any preconceived notions or experiences we’ve had with another company and projecting them into another project. It gives us an opportunity to go into the project and look at the industry and the company as if we are one of their clients, or one of their website visitors and have that unbiased perspective. So we found it’s advantageous if we don’t have a lot of experience in a particular industry and everything we do is custom, everything is 100% custom, from scratch so we’re not doing any template websites.
So when you’re looking for a web developer or designer I would recommend not putting it at the top of your list in terms of prioritization, finding a company that only does websites or specializes in websites in a specific industry.
