Hello, this is Mikel Bruce with Tiny Frog Technologies. One of the questions we always ask our clients or new clients when they begin working with us and initiating a project is when does the site need to be completed by or what is the timeline for their website project?
We have a lot of clients that will say they need it in a relatively short period of time and say they really need it in a rush because of one reason or another. And a typical website takes time, anywhere from two to four months, depending on the size of the website. So it’s really important to not cut that timeline short just to get it done for a certain reason or a certain event. If you cut corners on the website it will probably have an impact on the quality, on the content, or potentially on the design. You’re probably going to have your website for three or four, maybe five years. It’s really important that you do it right the first time and if it’s not done right it takes much more time to go back and fix it after the fact.
So it’s very important when beginning a website project to have a realistic timeline. If it’s something you’re considering doing, I’d probably consider it sooner rather than later versus waiting til the last minute, and then putting your development or design company behind the eight-ball and even yourself behind the eight-ball of needing, again, to get it done very quickly. You’ll find there’s a lot of effort that needs to be done on your part in terms of providing content and approvals and things like that, so you want to give yourself plenty of time and prepare yourself for the project in general. At Tiny Frog, we’ll provide you with a realistic timeline when you’re creating a website project and we’re always happy to talk with our clients about what is a realistic timeline when we’re initiating a website project.
