There are several things to consider before starting a website design project. What are your goals with this new website? Do you like your existing site & simply want to make some tweaks or do you want to start all over? Do you know your audience or users? These are all questions that you want to think about before even starting your website redesign project.
The next thing that you want to consider is who’s going to be on your internal website design project team. Maybe you want to have people from different departments so you can have different points of views or different values based on which department they’re in. Or you may just want a small team where you have just a couple of people so you don’t have too many ideas floating around, which also can be a problem.
The last thing that you want to do or consider is accumulating and doing some research on inspirational sites. Now these inspirational sites can be websites of competitors or they can be websites of companies that are in completely different industries, but what you’re looking for is you’re looking for things that you like or that you don’t like on these websites, things that you want maybe to consider including in your website, or not including in your website.
Either way, it’s really important to start accumulating and doing some research on those inspirational sites so before you begin your website design project. You definitely want to consider these three things.
