Hi, this is Jessica and I’m the Marketing Director here at Tiny Frog and today I’d like to share some ideas for how you can market and promote your new website after it launches. So launching a new website is actually an amazing marketing opportunity. It’s a great time to showcase new services, new products for your business and really kind of draw more attention to your business and what sets you apart.
After the site is done, one of the first things I’d recommend doing is writing a press release and in the release you can talk about the website project and any big changes happening for your company. If you launch new services or products that are focused on the website, those are all great details to include. And then there’s a lot of different outlets you can try to get that press release picked up by news organizations and even if it doesn’t get picked up anywhere, the second item I’d do is actually take that release – you can tweak it a little bit in terms of the language – but I’d post it on your website as a blog post. And it can be in the news category.
The third item I would think about doing after the website launches is to schedule some social media posts to promote the new website. So you could do a couple posts on different platforms. I would start with one just announcing the exciting news that you have a new website design. The next post can be a focus on thanking your team or anyone that helped you on the website. And then the final post, you can do something where you call out a specific feature or new item on the site. It’s great in the social media post to be really specific because you want people to get excited to click back and go to your website. And then if you have an email newsletter list, I would definitely send out a special newsletter announcing the launch of your new website. If you have a membership or e-commerce site, that newsletter is actually a great time to also tell any customers or members about new features on the site. Maybe you have a new process for how to handle support calls and support requests. So definitely include all those items in the newsletter and if you want to, you can even re-purpose that blog post and put that into the newsletter. And then the final item I’d recommend is just sharing the news via word-of-mouth. Launching a new site is a great way to start a conversation with a client and just talk more about your business, what sets you apart, maybe any new branding that you’ve launched with the new website.
So those are just a few ideas to do after your website launches. If you have any questions or need some advice on what to do after the site launches, feel free to reach out to us.
