Hi, this is Mary with Tiny Frog Technologies and today we’re going be talking with Mikel, our Founder. In this episode of the TinyFrog Weekly Ribbit, Mikel shares the story of how he picked the name Tiny Frog.
Why Pick Tiny Frog?
So why did you pick Tiny Frog for the name of the company? Well, a lot of it is just marketing and brand association. Most people like frogs and have a positive association. Not all the time, but most people have a positive association. So in terms of branding, you want to be able to associate with something that creates a positive experience for most people. That was one of the primary reasons for choosing frogs but even more importantly than that, frogs have the ability and capacity to adapt for a variety of environments and they live in a variety of environments and they often are very sensitive to their environments and they’re very adaptable for their environments. They’re called bio-indicators.
And I like to think that as a company we’re adapting to trends in the industry, to our clients’ needs and quickly shifting to adjust to align with what’s important to our clients and important to even our internal stakeholders and to the environment as well. And how is changing the name changed how you dealt with clients? It’s interesting – from a foundational perspective when we change the name – we changed the name about 10 years ago – and it really has changed the mindset, our mindset. When I changed the name to reflect that adaptability, it really has become kind of ingrained into our mission and how we choose our clients, how we work with our clients, how we choose the people that we work with and how we
try to project ourselves as a company.
