When we started using WordPress about seven or eight years ago it was a very small web platform. Most of the people who contacted us, when I told them that we use WordPress, I had to take time and and explain to them what WordPress is. Most people know what WordPress is nowadays. So I want to give you some information about why WordPress is a really great technology.
WordPress is basically a web platform or a content management system giving you, the user, the ability to manage and update your website through WordPress. WordPress is extremely widely used. About eighty percent of the websites that go up in the internet are now using WordPress. And there’s a reason for that because WordPress is:
A. It is a free technology, it’s open-source, you’re not paying for the licensing for WordPress. There is time involved in maintaining it.
B. WordPress is a huge support community. There’s a huge source of developers out there that are continually upgrading WordPress and adding add-on technologies and plug-in’s. So you can do a lot more with WordPress than you ever could do.
WordPress has some technical functionality sides that are beneficial to the search engines. You can customize almost any website on the front end of WordPress which is pretty advantageous. It’s very very simple to use in the back end. So if you have a WordPress site especially the newer mobile responsive WordPress sites you can do a lot with your WordPress site without having to have any coding experience and without having to be very technically savvy. You can easily add pages. You can easily embed video to your site. Create galleries. You can upload files and documents and much much more.
