Hello, this is Mikel, CEO of Tiny Frog Technologies. We have a lot of clients or potential clients who come to us who have issues with their websites in terms of security. Essentially their websites have been hacked and in some cases the websites have been hacked pretty badly so it’s going to take a while to get the website back up. In that case, I would strongly recommend putting up a one-page website to temporarily hold you or them over until the website’s back up. This is something we can do and can also probably be done by your web developer pretty quickly.
In some cases, if your website’s been hacked and the website wasn’t properly backed up you may have lost all your website files. So there’s a tool on the Internet called Wayback. It’s called Wayback Machine. You can actually go onto that web page or website tool and you can type a date – search by date of websites that have been archived. You can look at a visual representation of what your website looked like – so you can gather, pull content off from Wayback and download images and so forth and so on to kind of build a temporary website.
If you’re in a situation where your website is down or has been hacked and you need a temporary website, I’d strongly recommend talking to your web designer about putting a one-page website up. And typically we like to see some basic imagery, a short description of your business, the contact information, and a contact form. That’s a really good kind of short term solution to hold you over until your website can be republished. If you have any questions on that, feel free to give us a call.
