Today I want to talk to you about the importance of visitor profiles. First, I want to start off by saying that the website actually is not created for you or for your company.
The website is actually created for your visitors so it is really important that you identify the different types of visitors that are going to be coming to your website.
What are Visitor Profiles?
Once you identify those different kinds of visitors that are going to be coming to your website, you want to answer four key questions or consider four key topics for each one of these visitors.
First, what are the visitors goals or objectives? Why are they coming to your website in the first place Second is what are the events leading up to that visitor coming to your website? Did they research you, were they referred to you? Were they a past client? But, really think about the events that are leading up to each one of these visitor profiles to your website.
The third thing is what are their pain points? What are they looking to solve when they come to your website? It’s really important because this could be different for each one of these visitors that you identify that are coming to your website.
And the last thing are what are the key questions or takeaways that you think the visitors are going to want to gain after coming and visiting your website. All of these are super important to consider and you definitely want to make sure when you’re considering a website redesign project that you think about these things with your internal website team.
