Hi, this is Lilly with TinyFrog Technologies. I wanted to take a minute to talk about why good website marketing needs to trust design. When it’s time to do a website, business owners are full of ideas and as a strategist that is the most exciting thing for me. Business owners know their audience and know what they want out of a website and our goal is to bring that to life. The strongest websites that I’ve been a part of have come from a true partnership and have come from a conversation between the business owner and the design team. It’s important to discuss and bring to life what matters to the business, but then let the designer run with it from there.
Part of the reason this is important is that just like you know your business like no other, designers have spent years studying things like the way the eye moves across the screen, color harmony, and the psychology of color. To give you an example, I love the color red and I would want to splash red all over my website. A designer friend would stop me and say, “Hey, red actually signals to the brain to stop. If you want to create a fluid design experience website experience, consider toning back on the red.”
So these sorts of things come from a clear dialogue between the parties. As a business owner, while you know what you want on your website and what you want your users to experience, let the designer know that and then let them carry forward the best practices. I highly encourage you listen as much as you talk to your designer. I’ve learned so much over the years from our design team and I think you can too. Ultimately, trust makes for the most gorgeous website designs. I know that I need my website to have a particularly call to action. The designer will know how to make it jump out to the users’ eyes and make it something they really want to click. Think about it. When you order food, you know exactly the type of food you want to eat, but you leave it to the chef to do it perfectly. We rarely tell chefs what to do. Think of a designer that way – an expert that you trust and that will deliver.
Partnership between marketing and design is something we’re really proud of at TinyFrog. I’d love to give you a chance to experience it. Contact us to have a discussion about what your website needs.
