Hi my name is Maria I’m a web strategist and content writer with Tiny Frog Technologies.
Today I want to talk to you about the importance of connecting your design with your content. Oftentimes when people create their website, they’re so busy thinking about the design that they actually forget about the content and content is very important.
The reason why content is really important is because design may get your visitor to stop and look, but content is going to get them to take that action. So it’s really important at the end of the day that your imagery supports your content and your content supports your imagery.
So let’s talk about ways that you can do that. Some simple ways are to think about when you’re talking about your clients. When you’re talking about your clients and conveying, for example, who you serve, make sure that the imagery that’s talking about the persona of who you serve is actually reflected in that image or stock photography.
When you’re talking about your team, make sure that the imagery or the the supporting imagery for that content on that page is your team. Don’t select stock photography for that.
Another way that you can make sure to connect content with your with the design is to make sure that your values are displayed properly. So what I mean by that is your brand or your brand voice and style. If you want to be conveyed as a brand that’s really professional then make sure that your design elements are supporting that professional sort of feel.
The last thing is, at the end of the day, just make sure that you’re consistent across all your pages within your website. Make sure that you have that consistent brand voice and style and design elements to support it because you want to build trust. You want the visitors to believe in what it is that you’re trying to convey ,what it is that you’re trying to say, and how you are depicting your brand through your imagery.
