The first step is really to help people find their way to your website and how you can do that is by having a good domain address. It does not have to be a .com, it could be a .me, it can be a .club, it can be a .net. There are so many options. And they’re changing all the time.
Here’s the thing though, if you don’t have an easy name people never even find your website. So the first step to a great business website is to just have a good domain that people can find. The second step is to capture their imaginations once they get there. The best way to do this is with some great imagery and you have so many wonderful options right now. They’re creative great multimedias available whether it’s stock imagery – which can actually be great if chosen carefully with the right designer. You can use cinemagraphs which is when you land on a website and there’s a picture but it has slight movement to capture the eye. It could be infographics which are becoming more and more popular ways to share data and other information with readers instead of having them go through a bunch of text. So choosing imagery that really presents your brand well is going to be another way to create that one-of-a-kind website.
The third step would be to use words to support your point and your brand. When you’re creating your website, use the power of words to convey a unique personalized voice. This isn’t just in the informative content but, you have an opportunity to again create a one-of-a-kind website with buttons that say something different. There’s a difference between a contact us button and let’s talk button. It is so slight but it really does convey what’s different and approachable about your business.
