A landing page is a page on your website that is specifically designed to inspire visitors to take the action you desire, whether it’s to request contact from you, learn about a service or purchase a product.Imagine that you’re doing a campaign on teeth whitening and you’re sending visitors to your website’s Home page but the Home page doesn’t say anything about teeth whitening. People will look around your website for maybe a few seconds but they’re probably not going to spend too long looking for the service. Compare that to sending someone directly to a landing page that tells all about teeth whitening, what the benefits are, how easy it is, what the cost is and maybe even includes an offer on that page that would entice them to then fill out a form or maybe request an appointment. If you sent someone to that page you’d obviously create a much higher conversion rate of those people who have visited your landing page and want to buy that service. So that really is the goal of a landing page, to cater to a very specific activity or call to action and make sure that you’re converting as many visitors as possible.
