Today we’re going to talk about how you can increase the value your website has for your business.
Many websites, whether they are selling a product or service, tend to focus only on closing a deal. This is great, I mean, it’s always wonderful to move a product or get a new client but this shouldn’t be all your website does!
If you’re thinking strategically about the future you want to think about how you are nurturing leads. Too often we focus on users who are heavily interested when what we need to be doing is giving a little bit of attention to people who are shopping around.
A lead is someone who is a prospect but not yet a customer, these have value to you. Someone who may not be the perfect client at that time might know somebody who is or might become one in the future. This is why I encourage you add a mailing list opt-in to your website!
This will allow you to do three things…
1. You’ll be able to track people who were interested enough in what you do to stay in contact with you.
2. It’ll give you the opportunity to reach out to them and keep them informed of changes and updates about your business.
3. It will allow you to drip market to them, eventually luring them in.
If someone comes to your site and you don’t capture their contact information they are a lost opportunity.
So the value in your website is not just in the sales you make but in how you’ve nurture future leads, and how many emails sign ups you get.
