Often times we’ll create a website for a new business and find that the owner has unrealistic expectations about getting immediate traffic driven to the site by way of the search engines, specifically Google. This takes several months if not longer when a website is new. Google doesn’t penalize new businesses but it does take a period of time for a website to build creditability with the search engines.One thing a new business can do to promote traffic in the short term is invest in Google Adwords. If you chose the right keywords when setting up your Adword campaign, you’ll see some real results right away but don’t expect a ton. Try to determine realistic expectations of the kind of results you can get from the search engines, especially if you’re a new business owner.
