Hi, this is Jessica with Tiny Frog Technologies and today I’d like to talk a little bit about your website and hiring millennials. So I am a millennial. The term millennial is typically used for the generation born roughly between the 1980s and mid to late 1990s and right now there’s a lot of talk about millennials and recruitment and hiring.
And one reason is that millennials in general are kind of known for looking for a lot of purpose in their work when they’re evaluating a potential employer. We’re often looking more than just at the pay of the job but also at the company’s culture and kind of the experience and community of the company.
If your business is hiring or you’re looking at growing the business soon, it’s really important to take a look at your website and take a look at how you’re presenting the business and your company’s culture on your team page or career page. Another reason to look at your website in this way is that millennials, since we’ve grown up around the Internet, our generation is much more likely to go to your website first and look at your social media, look at your businesses’ web presence.
If your website is really outdated or you don’t have much information about your team and the culture, you could be losing out on really great employees and great talent out there. So take a moment and look at your site, take a look at your about page, your team page and see if there’s any ways you can improve how you’re presenting the business to potential employees.
