Having a blog is a super helpful and insightful way to connect with visitors. It also is really helpful at offering up tidbits of information and being a sort of industry expert and offering those tidbits up perhaps via your social channels or through a PPC campaign, but at the end of the day what you’re trying to do is draw them back to your website where they can read more about whatever that topic is, whatever that teaser is.
So what should you write about? That’s the difficult part. Well, believe it or not, there are four key things that you could start with. One is perhaps you just want to inform them about a change that’s happening within your organization. Perhaps, an expansion of your team or perhaps you’ve moved something that has to do with your organization itself.
The next thing, is you could answer key questions that your customers have. Well, how do you figure out what those key questions are? Look within the walls of your organization, that’s where you’re going to find it. Talk to your salespeople, talk to your operations people. You’ll find great questions right there from your actual employees. Start with those, they’re talking to your customers and they’ll be able to come up with those key common questions.
Another option that you can talk about for a blog is an explanation or an opinion perhaps on an industry trend. That’s a great thing to talk about because you want to show yourself as an expert within your industry.
The last opportunity for blog content is to use a description or case study even about your services that you offer. Case studies in particular are great because you can actually showcase what it is that you offer, your service or your product, with another customer and perhaps show the success that you’ve had with that customer.
