Hi, I’m Theresa Mills, Web Strategist with Tiny Frog Technologies. I’m here to talk to you today about your About page. In analytics, it’s shown that the About page is one of the most frequently visited pages, and here’s why… when you’ve visited a website for the first time and didn’t know anything about the company, where was the place you went for information? Most likely to the About page.
But you weren’t going there to learn about whose employed at the company or how many grandchildren they have – what you were going there for is for information. To learn what the company does. And whether or not they do what you need them to do to solve your problems.
The About page is so important and it’s your chance to tell your story, but also to connect with your audience. As part of your About page you can reflect your brands personality. For example, if you look at the Tiny Frog team page, you’ll see that every single aspect is reflecting the Tiny Frog brand.
The About Us page is also a great way to establish credibility. So make sure you include awards or any accreditation’s you have so people start developing a trust with you and then they are ready to take the next step.
And don’t forget that all important “call to action”. The “call to action” will tell the user once they’ve read about you and learned a little bit about you, it will tell them how they can get more information about you.
If you’d like to know more on how to develop an About page, please contact the Tiny Frog team, we’d be happy to help.
