Hi, this is Mikel with TinyFrog Technologies, and I would like to talk a little bit about ignoring your visitors and how it relates to a very specific kind of approach towards web design. Most people or companies, when they are building a website, they build it from the perspective of their experience, and what they know, and based on their services in terms of how they like to present them and how they perceive and project them.
That’s very important, but there’s another approach or different angle that must be incorporated into the process, and that’s the perspective of your visitors – the people who will view your website. We like to say that when we are working with our clients we like to be advocates for their visitors. We like to look at the business from the “outside-in,” from the perspective of the visitors. You really need to know what motivates your website visitors. You really need to know what they are looking for, what fears, goals, and objectives they have when they are considering and looking to solve a problem, or when they are looking for a solution, or they are looking for a service.
It’s really important to design a site strategically from the perspective of your visitors, and that really can have a huge impact on your conversion rates, reduce your bounce rates, and increase or improve the engagement rates on your site. So it’s really important not to ignore your visitors when you’re designing and building your website.
