Hello, this is Mikel with TinyFrog Technologies. I want to talk a little bit more about content marketing, specifically for financial advisors. But this really could or would apply to any company looking to market through their website with a content marketing process.
We talked a little bit in previous video blog posts about longform articles and shorter articles or blog posts. Another form of content that can be really valuable is video content, like what we’re doing above. A lot of people who go to a website are much more apt to click and watch a video than they would be to read a long article. So, videos are a great way to get content and ideas across without having to write something and making it easier your visitor/viewer or potential client to consume.
The nice thing about video content, especially this type of informal content, is that it’s relatively easy to create, it’s not nearly as expensive as highly produced content, and it can be easy to put into your website. Another nice thing – it can be short as well. It can be unscripted and short.
One of the things we recommend to our clients who are creating video content is to almost answer a question as if they’re speaking to a client and answering one individual question. Something that might take 1 to 2 minutes to answer. And then once you do that, there’s a whole process of taking that video and uploading it to YouTube and then easily dropping it into your website. Google values video content pretty significantly, so that’s another reason to do that.
Once you get that video content, it can be repurposed for your newsletters, it can be featured on your homepage of your website. It can be sent to clients to answer a particular question and show them that you are making an effort to educate them on particular topics. It can be used in a wide variety of purposes.
There are a lot of other ideas for content marketing which we’ll get into in other video posts. Thank you.
